Standard payment terms
We make 2 payment runs each month to our suppliers, on the 15th and 30th of each month. Certain key suppliers are paid on the next run after their invoice is received. Most suppliers will be paid at the end of the following month from the invoice date (05/03/22 invoice would be paid 30/04/22). Suppliers who have given us extended credit terms are paid at the end of the month, 2 months after the invoice date (05/03/22 invoice would be paid 30/05/22).
Dispute resolution
The invoice would be marked to 'hold' by the person responsible for signing off the invoice. It would then either be the responsibility of the person signing off the invoice or purchase ledger, based at head office, to contact the supplier and sort out the dispute, depending on its nature.

What a 36-day cycle ties up
Illustrative. On a hypothetical £12k/month account, at a 36-day vs a 5-day payment cycle.
Late Payment Act. The Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act lets a supplier charge statutory interest and fixed compensation on invoices paid past agreed terms. Work out what a late invoice is worth → Whether it applies depends on your contract — check with an adviser.

How often is this data updated?
Is this official government data?
How this is compiled. Built from official records only: Companies House and the gov.uk payment-practices service. The payment figures are self-reported — companies over the size threshold must file them by law and the board signs them off. No credit-agency data. The numbers are theirs; the plain-English read is ours. This is information compiled from public records under the Open Government Licence v3.0 — not a credit rating and not advice.
